One evening, a wife realized she was going to be home much later than expected. She picked up her phone and sent her husband a message.

“Hi honey, I’ll be late tonight. Please cook dinner, wash all the dirty dishes, prepare the bed, and make sure the kids eat, brush their teeth, and go to sleep before I get back.”

She waited.

No reply.

A few minutes passed. Still nothing.

She looked at the screen, sighed, and knew exactly what had happened. He had either ignored the message, pretended not to see it, or was hoping she would forget all about it by the time she got home.

So she smiled to herself and sent another text.

“Oh, and I forgot to mention… I also bought you a bottle of Blue Label premium Scotch whisky. It’s waiting for you at home.”

Within seconds, her phone lit up.

Her husband replied, “Really?!”

The wife looked at the message, shook her head, and typed back:

“No. I just wanted to make sure you got my first message.”
