A blonde woman was driving down the road in her little red sports car, going much faster than she realized.
A few moments later, flashing lights appeared behind her. She pulled over, and a blonde police officer walked up to the window.
“Good afternoon, ma’am,” the officer said. “Do you know how fast you were going?”
The driver smiled nervously. “Not exactly.”
The officer nodded. “I’ll need to see your driver’s license, please.”
The blonde driver opened her purse and started digging through it. She pulled out lipstick, sunglasses, tissues, receipts, and half a pack of gum, but no license.
After a minute, she looked up, frustrated. “What does it look like?”
The blonde officer thought for a second and said, “It’s square, and it has your picture on it.”
The driver’s face lit up. “Oh! I know exactly what you mean.”
She reached back into her purse, found a small square mirror, looked at it, smiled, and handed it to the officer.
“Here it is.”
The officer took the mirror, looked into it carefully, then suddenly straightened up and handed it back.
“I’m sorry, ma’am,” she said. “You can go.”
The driver blinked. “Really?”
The officer nodded.
“Yes. I didn’t realize you were a police officer.”
