A guy finally convinced his girlfriend to come with him to a football game.
He was thrilled because he had managed to get great seats, right behind their team’s bench. He spent most of the game explaining the plays, the rules, and why everyone in the stadium kept yelling at the referees.
His girlfriend listened politely, although she seemed far more interested in the players than the scoreboard.
After the game, as they were walking back to the car, he smiled and asked, “So, what did you think? Did you enjoy your first football game?”
“Oh, I really liked it,” she said. “The atmosphere was exciting, the crowd was loud, and I definitely appreciated the tight pants and all those big muscles.”
He laughed. “See? I told you football was great.”
“But there’s one thing I didn’t understand,” she continued.
“What’s that?” he asked.
She frowned. “Why were they all fighting so hard over twenty-five cents?”
He stopped walking. “Twenty-five cents? What are you talking about?”
She said,
“Well, at the beginning they flipped a coin, one team got it, and then for the rest of the game everybody kept screaming, ‘Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!’ I mean… hello? It’s only a quarter!”
