Little Tommy, six years old and full of curiosity, came home from school looking frustrated and red-cheeked.
His mom smiled and asked, “Rough day, sweetheart? How was school?”
Tommy groaned. “So embarrassing, Mom!”
Trying not to laugh, she said, “Oh no, what happened?”
He huffed and replied, “We had our first talk about where babies come from. Everyone had their own wild ideas!”
“Really? Like what?” she asked.
“Well,” Tommy began, “Emma said babies are delivered by storks. Ben said his parents bought his sister at a hospital. And Lily said you can just adopt one if you fill out some forms.”
His mom chuckled. “Those are some creative answers. So why were you embarrassed?”
Tommy crossed his arms and sighed. “Because I didn’t want to tell them the truth — that you and Dad had to make me yourselves!”
