In A Historic Arrest, Donald Trump Gives Himself Up

Following his surrender at the New York City district attorney’s office on April 4, TMZ reported that Donald Trump is currently in custody. Trump is now the first president in American history to be detained on serious criminal charges following this shocking arrest.

This information was released following a grand jury’s decision to indict him on March 30, despite the charges initially being kept secret (per CNN).

In response to the grand jury’s decision, Trump stated via Truth Social that “this is an attack on our country the likes of which has never been seen before.” The 45th president of the United States eventually foresaw his demise on March 18 in an earlier revelation on his own social media platform, despite his timing being a little wrong.

The $130,000 hush payment paid to Stormy Daniels in 2016 is the subject of Trump’s accusations. Daniels testified under oath that the money was offered in exchange for her signing an NDA that forbade her from talking about her alleged liaison with Trump in 2006 before the election. He has strongly denied the affair and claims that he ordered the payment, despite Michael Cohen, his attorney, giving contradictory testimony on March 15 when he appeared before a grand jury. Of course, Trump had something to say about his arrest before entering the courtroom.

Before of his arraignment hearing on April 4, Donald Trump turned himself in at the district attorney’s office. Prior to entering the courtroom, Trump stated that the encounter appeared “on True Social, adding, “OMG, they’re about to ARREST ME, which is strange. Unbelievable that this is taking on in America. MAGA!”

Little is known about whether Trump will receive special treatment because of the unusual circumstances surrounding his detention. He will, though, have to go through the standard booking procedure, which includes having his fingerprints taken, like everyone else.

In typical Trump manner, he wasn’t leaving office silently. On March 18, shortly after revealing his impending detention, Trump delivered a stirring rallying appeal to his devoted supporters. On Truth Social, he urged people to protest and “take our nation back.” Before Trump’s arraignment, it seems several well-known figures answered his call to action, joining his throngs of fans in the streets of New York City. They included fellow outspoken Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene and George Santos. The laundry list of controversies involving Donald Trump is extensive, and these accusations are just the top of the iceberg. The former president is the focus of numerous active criminal investigations, including one for encouraging the violence that took place during the Capitol riots on January 6.
