During the final stage of the police academy exam, recruits faced a series of tricky moral questions designed to test their judgment. The instructor, a very serious man with a mustache so sharp it could cut paper, paced slowly in front of the class.
At one point he stopped, pointed at a young recruit, and asked,
“What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?”
