Two women were chatting in the afterlife, trying to figure out how each of them had ended up there.
The first woman sighed and said, “I always suspected my husband was cheating on me. One afternoon, I decided I’d had enough. I left work early and rushed home, hoping to catch him in the act.”
The second woman leaned closer. “And did you?”
“No,” the first woman said. “That was the strange part. When I opened the front door, he was sitting alone in the den, calm as anything, watching TV like nothing had happened.”
“So what did you do?”
“I didn’t believe it for a second,” the first woman continued. “I was convinced there had to be another woman hiding somewhere in the house. So I started searching like crazy.”
She shook her head.
“I checked every closet, looked under every bed, ran up to the attic, then down to the basement. I searched behind curtains, inside cabinets, even in the laundry room. I was so angry and exhausted that my heart just couldn’t take it. I collapsed right there and died.”
The second woman looked at her sadly and said,
“What a shame.”
The first woman nodded. “I know.”
Then the second woman added,
“If you had checked the freezer, we’d both still be alive.”
