Two sisters inherited a family farm.

After a few tough years, money was tight, and the only way to save the farm was to buy a bull so they could start breeding their own cattle.

They scraped together their last $600, and one sister drove to a faraway stockyard. After looking over the animals, she found the perfect bullāpriced at $599. She bought it, leaving only $1 in her pocket.
Needing to let her sister know to bring the trailer and come pick up the bull, she went to the telegraph office. The clerk said, āItās 99 cents a word.ā
She thought for a while and said, āSend one word: Comfortable.ā
The clerk raised an eyebrow. āHow will she understand that?ā
The sister grinned and said, āBecause sheāll read it real slow: Come⦠for⦠the⦠bull.ā
